RECRUITING: Close the Gap

We are recruiting for THREE posts which are funded by Big Lottery Fund; 2 x Development Officers and 1 x Administrative Assistant. 

Close the Gap works with employers, economic development agencies and trade unions to develop and implement strategies to close the pay gap between women and men.

The posts and how to apply are detailed below.

1)    Close the Gap Project – Development Officer (WiRES) – 34 hours

Fixed Term to 31 March 2015 - £29754 pa

This post, which is funded by Big Lottery Fund, will be to develop the Women in Renewable Energy Scotland (WiRES) network.

The Development Officer will:

  • Co-ordinate a mentoring programme for women working in the renewable energy sector.
  • Develop and deliver a programme of networking events across Scotland.
  • Develop and deliver a programme of events to increase women’s technical knowledge and skills, and soft skills.
  • Co-ordinate development of the WiRES website, and write content for it.
  • Develop and disseminate WiRES publications and promotional materials.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of women’s participation in WiRES activity.
  • Produce reports, and other updates on progress.

2)    Close the Gap Project – Development Officer (TBTE) – 34 hours

Fixed Term to 31 March 2015 - £29754 pa

This post, which is funded by Big Lottery Fund, will be to develop the Think Business, Think Equality toolkit.

The Development Officer will:

  • Develop a self-assessment tool for private sector companies, so that they can identify areas of employment practice that are not delivering equality, and make effective changes to them.
  • Pilot the self-assessment tool with private sector companies.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of company participation in the pilot.
  • Produce reports on the pilot that are appropriate to policymakers, stakeholders, and employers.
  • Develop and deliver appropriate dissemination events, suitable for policymakers, stakeholders, and employers.
  • Develop and dissemination of publications and promotional materials.
  • Build relationships with business representative organisations.
  • Contribute to the Close the Gap blog, and other relevant publications.

3)    Close the Gap Project – P/Time Admin Assistant – 28 hrs

Fixed Term to 31 March 2015 - £25532 pa (pro rata)

This post, which is funded by Big Lottery Fund, will be to support the Close the Gap team.

The Admin Assistant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • An appropriate qualification or relevant experience in administration/secretarial function.
  • Skilful minute taking, document and report preparation and dissemination.
  • Excellent organisational skills and effective communication.
  • Highly developed IT skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
  • Event organisation.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, requiring minimal supervision
